Drakeford is an Artist who works in a variety of disciplines including installation, light projection, moving image, photographic collage and silkscreen printing and graduated from the Royal College of Art in 2012.
The inspiration for Drakeford's practice stems from the constantly changing urban fabric that surround us, whether that is physical or digital. At the core of his work lies a recurring interest in Architecture, specifically the materials that it employs to sculpt contemporary landscape and its interaction with the people that inhabit it's space.
In 2013 Drakeford was awarded the Royal British Society of Sculptors Bursary Award which resulted in an exhibition in the RBS Kensington gallery. He was also a semi finalist in 2012 for the Adobe Achievement Awards and short-listed for the 20/21 Art Prize.
Alongside his practice as an Artist, Drakeford has worked as a print expert for Tribal DDB and as a Creative Mentor for students with learning difficulties aged between 11-18. He has also worked as a Visiting Practitioner at Wimbledon College of Art and Edinburgh University and co-curated Exhibitions for PRESENT? Collective. PRESENT? Collective is a group of artists engaged with the current urban fabric that informs and distorts navigation of the present. The collective held its first exhibition at Maddox arts in February 2013.
